LIBERTY HEIGHTS IS GOOD...

Let's start there!

In a much-anticipated matchup between the state's top 2 teams, #1 Liberty Heights defeated #2 and nationally ranked Word Of God 68-52 last night in Rock Hill, SC.

This matchup was already highly anticipated, but it went to another level yesterday when 2022 G Freddie Dillione announced that he has transferred to the Holy Rams from Trinity Christian. Dillione is one of the best scorers in the HoopState & he holds several HM offers. Early on, the game went back and forth as both teams traded punches. LHA ended the half strongly by clamping down defensively along with the shot & playmaking ability by star 2022 PG Elijah Jamison to take a 29-18 halftime lead.

The second saw the Holy Rams turn up the pressure led by Po'Boigh King & Khalil Marshall to keep them in the game, but then UCF commit PJ Edwards happened. In his short time in the HoopState, PJ has developed a reputation of being a lockdown defender and tough shot maker. Edwards made big shot after big shot in the 4th to put the game away. Edwards led LHA with 21 points, Jamison finished with 19 & Marquette commit Jonas Aidoo added 11, for the Holy Rams, King led with 19 points while Dillione and Marshall had 12 & 10, respectively.

Last night proved two things. 1.) Liberty Heights is the best team currently in the HoopState & deserving of a top 25 national ranking. 2.) The HoopState Championship in March is going to be EPIC !! Stay tuned 😎
